Honestly, I have some disagreements with how this was handled. While I do like the new layout, I believe the sections added are... Not what the main page ought to focus on. "Protagonists" isn't really important since protagonists can change (502, technically Misfits/507), or are barely a necessary thing to list due to Witches focusing on all its characters somewhat equally. 504 especially barely puts the Red Pants in the spotlight as protagonists due to how much it focuses on other characters as well.
Additionally, putting 501 with the stylized and clean icons and then having 502 be a mess of uncropped images looks really, really bad. It just makes the section look cluttered, especially since there aren't any names listed. At the very least I'd suggest cropping the images to portraits, but honestly I dislike giving that treatment to only 502 as a whole. The western community, from what I've seen, has a serious issue with barely reading any of the translated media, and only watching the anime. Giving a section to only 502 (and I suppose 501, though at least with them they are the most important JFW narratively speaking) will only serve to support that mindset of ignoring the other media, which I think hurts the fanbase as a whole.
If I can make a suggestion, I feel like replacing the two sections with one on units would really help. It's easier to get the images looking nice, and it gives people a link to each JFW and reasonably sized unit (Isle of Wight, Storm Witches, etc) so they can read about them, the media they're involved in, and see a list of witches who fight in each unit. It's a far better reference for the front page than protagonists and 502 in my opinion, and I think it would help to bring lesser-known units to light, such as 505, LLV24, etc. As it stands now, there's no reference to either of those two units on the main page, and essentially no way a newcomer would ever find out about them unless they did some digging, especially in LLV24's case.
Again, these are just my thoughts, but I really don't think the way it was done highlights all the important parts of the wiki.
