The Karlsland Army is the land service branch for the Empire of Karlsland armed forces.

History[]

In 1943, Karlsland soldiers along with Tiger I tanks launched an attack on the Neuroi with support from the Liberan Army. The Tiger I tanks managed to destroy at least one of the Neuroi before a large flying type Neuroi destroyed all allied forces with one shot. Later in August 1945, as the Neuroi launched a massive attack with forces arising from the groun, a battery of Flak 36 guns can be seen firing on the Neuroi and shooting down several before the Neuroi destroyed the anti-aircraft guns and their crews.

In March 1945, the Petersburg Army Group which included Karlsland army forces was deployed under the command of General Manstein and Mannerheim to counter the Neuroi hive Grigori. A recon team consisting of Karlsland Panzer IV to monitor the Neuroi hive was wiped out some time later. The next day, Operation Freyja commenced with the goal of destroying Grigori. The Karlsland army deployed soldiers, Panzer IV, Flak 36, and Panzerwerfer 42 to protect the two 80 cm railway guns, Gustav and Dora which would destroy Grigori. The Karlsland forces suffer casualties but Gustav was able to fire it's magically infused round to expose the Neuroi's main body. However, before Dora could fire it's round to destroy the Grigori, the railway gun's barrel was destroyed by a Neuroi beam. The 502nd JFW attempted to use the shell from Dora and drop it directly on the Neuroi's core but the hive had a core within a core which allowed the Neuroi to survive. By this time, a spare armor-piercing round was loaded into Gustav, new coordinates given by Takami Karibuchi, and the railgun fired, Grigori had regenerated it's cloud to stop the shell midflight and causing it to disintegrate. With all options spent, Grigori descending on St. Petersburg, and the two railway guns destroyed, Manstein orders all forces to retreat. However, the 502nd witches managed to find a way to use the wrecked magic shells and managed to destroy Grigori completely. As the 502nd return to base, the Karlsland forces below celebrate the victory.

In early 1946, the Karlsland Army landed with the Liberian Army under the command of General Patton. An initial push for Berlin which involved Tiger I tanks is halted by a new Neuroi type. On the Eastern Front, forces under the command of Manstein continue to push west along the coast and the Karlsland general along with Gundula Rall and Hikari Karibuchi attend a conference in Amsterdam for Operation Victoria which is a combined attack on the Neuroi on multiple fronts. Manstein forces are designated to attack near Poznań, Karlsland. The Karlsland forces under Patton are deployed in Berlin with Tiger Is and the super heavy tank Ratte in order to destroy the Neuroi wall-types. After the Ratte blew a path open, the Neuroi trapped the Ratte and it's escorts in a dome. The forces of Liberion and Karlsland soldiers were forced to take shelter in a done with at least one Karlsland soldier on the roof shooting at the Neuroi overhead. After the 501st JFW managed to destroy Wolf, various Karlsland soldiers can be seen celebrating the liberation of their capital.

Trivia[]

  • The Karlsland Army is heavily based on the Heer, the land forces of the Wehrmacht during World War II. The Karlsland military shares many equipment and uniforms of its real life counterpart.
    • Some of the equipment such as the Ratte and Panzerfaust 250 never actually saw combat as they were canceled or the war ended before they saw any service.
