Luminous Witches (連盟空軍航空魔法音楽隊 ルミナスウィッチーズ, Renmei kūgun kōkū mahō ongaku-tai Ruminasu Witchīzu, lit. "League of Nations Air Forces (LNAF) Aviation Magic Band Luminous Witches"), also known as Idol Witches (音楽隊ウィッチーズ, Ongaku-tai Witchīzu, lit. "Music Squadron Witches"), is a spin-off anime of the main Strike Witches anime series, featuring a namesake group of witches. The anime was set to be released in 2021, but it was postponed to 2022 due to several voice actors retiring because of health issues.
These girls are the members of a unique aviation group that brings peace of mind and heal the heart of the people who have fought against the Neuroi and the people who were chased out from their hometown around the world. At the exact opposite of the witches of the Joint Fighter Wings who fight to protect everyone, these girls do not fight, they protect everyone's smiles with "songs and music"! They are the "League of Nations Air Forces Aviation Magic Band Luminous Witches".
It is a side story that happens during the events of the first season of Strike Witches.
