M4 Sherman

The M4 Sherman is a Medium Tank of the Liberian Army in the World of Witches. This tank is identical to its real counterpart.

History[]

The Sherman tank was first seen in the Strike Witches: The Movie, during the Allied Invasion within the Second Neuroi War in 1943. The tanks were supporting Allied infantrymen destroying Neuroi Walkers alongside Karlsland Tiger I Heavy Tanks. Most of the M4 Shermans were destroyed by a Flying Neuroi along with the Allied Forces gathered there. Later in 1945, three Shermans were seen attempting to stop the Neuroi's massive attack near Bastogne, Belgica but were all destroyed.

A Sherman with a mine plow was used by Perrine to help the Nederland farmers and was briefly used against a Neuori that appeared by ramming it in Strike Witches: Road to Berlin Episode 5.

A variant of the Sherman, the T34 Calliope was present and saw action when a Neuroi bomber approached Kiel. The rocket armed Shermans attempted to shoot down the enemy but had no success and were all destroyed by a single beam from the Neuroi. The Calliopes were then deployed in mass under the command of General Patton and General Bradley during Operation Southwind, the attack on the Wolf hive in Berlin. Multiple Calliopes fired off their payloads at the Neuroi walls surrounding the Karlsland capital to no effect.
