Virginia Robertson (ヴァージニア・ロバートソン), nicknamed Ginny (ジニー, Jinī), is the main protagonist of Luminous Witches. She is a Night Witch of the Music Squadron, originating from Britannia. She temporarily became an ordinary human when letting her familiar, Moffy (モフィ, Mofi), back to its fellow black swans.
Background[]
Although her background remains a mystery, Ginny is a girl who hails from Britannia's rural countryside, and came to London with a certain goal in mind. She is accompanied by a weird familiar. When she was younger, she caught her familiar, Moffy, by chance after it was falling from the sky, thus becoming a witch. She is a natural-born Night Witch, as she developed her magical powers without any knowledge of magic nor training.
Personality[]
Ginny is a girl with a bit of a mysterious charm. Coming from the remote countryside of Britannia, she has somewhat a naïve side to her. Extremely positive, pure and full of vigour, she naturally cheers up everyone in her unit.
Shibuya Inori takes on the position of her big-breasted best friend.
Lyudmila Andreyevna Ruslanova is her rival whose fashion sense is a bit lame.
Abilities[]
Ginny has a Night Witch's ability to manipulate magic and sound waves. And her inherent magic, like other Night Witches, is Magic Antenna (魔導針, Madō shin, lit. "Magic Needles"), which allows her to interact with radio waves. She uses short-wave bands to enable the detection of objects at extreme ranges beyond the horizon by reflection from the ionosphere, but the accuracy is not high. With this ability, she is capable of locating the Neuroi across long distances. The accuracy increase greatly at short ranges. While activation, it takes a form of headphones when Moffy is in its initial form, and a parabolic antenna or a radar dish when Moffy is in its true form.
Her familiar's strong memorizing skills with music allows her to record any music instantly, however she cannot send out sounds nor waves on her own, but after Moffy has become a full fledge black swan, Ginny was able to send out the music to the entirety of other Night Witches across the Earth.
Within the unit, she is in charge of vocals and music arrangement.
Equipment[]
The Music Squadron uses the AT-6 Texan Striker Units, a trainer made in Liberion. This Striker is used in the Britannian Commonwealth as well and nicknamed "Harvard" there[1].
